Top 5 Best Search Engines That Doesn’t Track You (Private Search Engines ) 20212 min read

Search Engines That Don’t Track Your Activity

Private Search Engine

Most of the popular search engines have a terrible record when it comes to a user’s privacy. For this reason, many people are now opting to use a private search engine instead as privacy is essential.

Keeping this in mind, let’s take a look at the top 5 search engines that do not store your search queries or track you while you’re online, and the top pick is when I would bet most of you have never heard of. This is not a detailed guide. It’s just an intro to the private search engines.

Here’s the list of the top 5 best private search engines that don’t track your activity:

5. Yipee

The search engine is not much to look at but shines after you search the search results page. It automatically categorizes the search results. You can manually filter the results along the left, but several categories to choose from selecting the plus sign next to any of the categories will reveal subcategories that you can choose to further refine your search just like any other search engine. Selecting a result will open the site in the current window.

There’s an option to open the link in a new window, open a new tab, and then the select preview will open that page just below the search result, which is a nice feature.

4. Swiss Cows:

It uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning to evaluate the context of a user’s search on their homepage. Selecting the question mark to the right of the search box allows you to choose a region to get more relevant search results. Below the search box are some of the top trending searches. Selecting any of them will open a new page with the search results.

After searching for the left, you will find other words often associated with your initial search. Using these is a great way to filter your search results.

3. DuckDuckGo

DuckDuckGo is a private search engine that may be the most well known of the privacy-focused search engines. This search engine never stores your personal information or data, and they deliver search results without tailored ads on their search pages

The CEO of DuckDuckGo once said that we have nothing to tie back to you if the FBI comes to us. Of course, you can search in a typical way like you do on other search engines or use bangs that allow users to search other sites directly.

2. StartPage

This search engine uses the results from Google without all the unnecessary tracking. Like the other services mentioned, they do not collect your search data, typically targeting you with online advertisements when you click on a link on any search engine. The StartPage offers a proxy service; instead of clicking the standard link, select proxy to the right. By selecting a proxy, you’re invisible to the website.

They only see StartPage’s IP address, not yours. If you end up clicking other links from that website, the StartPage proxy will display those for you, too. The only downside to this is that pages load slower than usual because the StartPage must retrieve the contents and redisplay them.

1. Search Encrypt

It doesn’t have the bells and whistles of other search engines but is the most secure, which is the whole point of this article. It uses AES-256 encryption along with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption

After you’re done searching, your search terms will be useful if someone else has access to your computer other than the non-targeted ads. The search results are typical of what you would find on other search engines.

Summary

Whether you use Search Encrypt or any other available search engines, if your privacy is important to you or you don’t want the search engine to track your online activity, then just make sure you use the Search Engine that doesn’t track you while you’re online.
